SKRYFBEHOEFTES.

(ongeveer R1500-00 in waarde)

STATIONERY

Rata Social Services reach out to you with a humble request, which supports children in vulnerable communities.

Many learners in our country start the school year without basic stationary items – something as simple as a notebook or pencil can have a profound impact on a child’s ability to learn.

According to Statistics South Africa, there were approximately 14.4 million learners in ordinary schools in 2023, with a large portion coming form low-income households. Rising living costs and education expenses make it impossible for many parents to afford even the most essential learning materials. Education experts also note that millions of children struggle with reading comprehension and focus – challenges that can be eased when children are equipped with the right learning tools.

We invite churches, businesses and communities to be part of this life-changing initiative by:
• Collecting stationery items (notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, etc.) – see list on slide. Even a simple stationery pack can bring hope, motivation and opportunity to a child in need. (R1500-00 value approximately)

For more information or to get involved, please contact the undersigned or Annelle at info@rata.org.za or 064 437 5997.

Contact your nearest office for more information or to drop off the stationery. (office list)

Kindest Regards,

Mrs. N. Cordier
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Babasorgpakkies

  • NAN of Infacare-babaformule.
  • Kombersie.
  • Sagte speelding.
  • Babasak.

Baby Care packages

There is an increasing need to secure children on very short notice. We usually receive them with only the clothes on their backs. The mothers cannot support them with even the most basic necessities

In order to strengthen our hands, we ask for your support in the form of donations of baby items, or cash donations for Rata’s child protection work. The care packages are given to safety parents who take in babies and young children in crisis situations at very short notice for temporary care.

Packages can be dropped off at your nearest Rata office (list here)

The list below is only suggestions if you are not sure what is needed.

NAN or Infacare baby formula.
Disposable diapers – newborn to 24 months. Please indicate the size on the care package.
Pacifier and a baby bottle.
Towel, washcloth and baby soap. The head-to-toe liquid soap works very well (preferably hypoallergenic).
Water-based (Aqueous) cream – preferably the unscented version.
Blanket.
Soft toy.
Baby bag.
The value of such a package is approximately R1 400-00. It makes the world of difference to a defenseless little child.
