Overview:

Normal sexual development or problematic sexual behaviour?  This is often a question asked when there are sexual interactions between children.  But what happens when a minor, a child under 18 sexually abuses another child.  This phenomenon is not only shocking, but also confusing to many professionals as to how it should be dealt with.  During the webinar, the legal aspects in relation to sexual abuse, child on child abuse, age of consent, age and criminal capacity as well as reporting, assessment and intervention will be reviewed and discussed.  Relevant legislation will be reviewed in relation to practical implementation, including the children’s Act, sexual offences Act as well as the child justice Act.  The webinar will extensively explore practical issues specifically in relation to assessment, reporting, ethical practice and considerations.
