The annual camp has, over the past 18 years, grown to such an extent that it was decided to extend the camp so as to include other branch offices of the organization. The social workers of the various foster care houses are going to combine forces to make the 19th camp a roaring success.

At the camp, which will last for five days (1 – 5 October 2018), the children are divided into groups according to age and gender and a social worker will present group therapy to them on a daily basis according to their age level.

Students from the University of Pretoria as well as University of Northwest are recruited as volunteers and are responsible to provide recreational activities for the children. Every year the camp is a great success and is on many of the children’s agenda for the year.

The organization of such a camp for approximately 100 persons is not only time consuming but also very costly. The State does not make any funds available for this purpose and the future of the camp is therefore dependent on gifts and donations. The total expenses of the camp held last year was R124 505.00 and the camp was attended by 60 children. The expenses for this year’s camp are estimated to be approximately R1500-00 per child which would include transportation by bus, accommodation, recreation and meals for the week.

It will be greatly appreciated if you could find it in your heart to participate in this wonderful opportunity. It is an experience for old and young that will not be easily forgotten.

How to be of assistance? Donations and any gifts of any nature will be greatly appreciated so that the camp may take place this year.
