The deacons of the Netherdutch Reformed church, Klerksdorp Region identified the need to be trained on service delivery to families in need. As the deacons are involved in services to families in the church, they tend to come across situations such as, alcohol abuse, child neglect and abuse, family violence ect, which they are not always comfortable to handle. The focus of the training was on how to identify social problems in families, the signs of the problems and where to report the problems if identified. Follow-up training sessions will follow.
